I am trained in EMDR and have found this tool to be incredibly helpful in reprocessing traumatic events, as well as alleviating symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Trauma can disrupt the fabric of every part of our day. We see other people walking around, seemingly living a happy and peaceful existence and feel like we would give anything to just have that. It can be so hard to even acknowledge how much trauma has affected our lives. We lie to ourselves and say “it wasn’t that bad” or think that we should be able to move on. But the truth is, trauma can leave us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and isolated.

I incorporate evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR), and Parts Work.
Hello and welcome, searching for a therapist is a brave first step towards growth and change. I help clients in ARIZONA work towards having a curious mind that fosters introspection and self-discovery to make generational changes in their lives. I have a clear and proactive approach to therapy, focusing on addressing the root causes of clients' challenges rather than just treating symptoms. I encourage open communication and provide a welcoming space for clients to explore their past experiences. This can be instrumental in helping clients understand the origins of their behaviors and work towards changing what isn't serving them.

Some of the modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR), Brainspotting, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and psychoeducation.
Hi, my name is Marisol and I’m a therapist with 10 years in direct practice and 19 years in the social service industry. My specialties are in trauma and relationships, and I am experienced in working with various populations in a variety of issues. Therapy is not a “one-size fits all” venture but one that requires an understanding of the person as a whole and then the ability to pull from a variety of modalities to help guide the person in their journey. Soy bilingue y tambien proveo terapia en Espanol.

I provide therapy tailored to your needs and draw from DBT, IFS, and EMDR to find those lightbulb moments where things just click.
Has fighting with emotions, planning your day around triggers, or feeling distracted and overstimulated become part of your everyday life? Maybe it feels like you can't quite get things right and you're searching for a deeper understanding of what's holding you back. It can be difficult to keep moving, especially when you have frequent symptoms. In our sessions, we will dive deep to uncover the messages you have absorbed from other people and give your inner child some love. We will laugh, cry, and learn together, all while guiding you towards healing.

I use a combination of evidence-based techniques such as EMDR and attachment-based therapy, tailoring my sessions to meet the individual where they are.
My ideal client is someone who has experienced trauma, whether in childhood or within their relationships, and is seeking to heal from its lingering effects. Their issues often include feelings of shame, guilt, self-blame, or an inability to trust others or themselves. They may struggle with anxiety, depression, or self-sabotaging behaviors that stem from unresolved trauma. Their needs include a safe space where they can process their emotions without fear of judgment, tools to manage the overwhelming feelings that arise, and guidance on how to rebuild their sense of self-worth and trust in others.

As trauma therapist trained from The Meadows- world-renowned for trauma treatment, I have extensive training in evidenced-based therapies proven effective to provide you relief: including: EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Safe & Sound Protocol, Internal Family Systems, Sand Tray, etc.
Holding it all together is something you used to do... but you feel you have lost the ability to manage your life since the pandemic .... You feel depressed, on edge, overly sensitive...not to mention the 3 AM crazies. The highs and lows seem so extreme! You realize you are more agitated and cannot feel "present." You may be looking for relief more often by numbing out with the latest binge-- alcohol or Netflix...does it even matter anymore? "Is this all there is? Where did I go? How did I get here?" If any of this sounds familiar, there is hope and I can help!

Waitlist for new clients
I am a licensed professional counselor and I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR) therapy and I also use other types of therapy methods to help client's target the source of their depression, anxiety and low self esteem.
I have a wait list currently....Many people struggle with shame. Shame is the belief "something is wrong with you". You know that nagging voice that shows up from time to time telling you "You're not good enough". Shame comes from our experiences in life. Each experience especially in our younger years creates beliefs about ourselves which can create struggles including depression, anxiety and low self esteem.

There is a solution to help how you respond to these various circumstances - EMDR.
Throughout the years, life events, both big and small, are inevitable. These events challenge and shape who we are and how we respond to others and situations. This can cause higher levels of depression, anxiety, OCD, dissociation, negative self-esteem, weight gain/loss, and even suicidal thoughts. Here at Inside Out, you will find highly skilled therapists who only strive for excellence in their therapeutic practice and will walk with you on your journey.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
