I am a LAC currently specializing in eating disorders/disordered eating and trauma. My therapeutic appropriate is trauma informed care where I address the root experiences that have influenced patterns of unhealthy coping and a negative core belief.

You know that nagging voice that shows up from time to time telling you "You're not good enough". Shame comes from our experiences in life. Hello! My name is kris, I'm a native Arizonan. I received my bachelor's in science degree from SUU, Cedar City Utah I completed my MSW at New Mexico State University.

I hold an MA degree in Counseling from Ottawa University and an MA in education from Arizona State University. In addition, I hold an advanced Graduate Specialization in Marriage and Family therapy. I am an LPC, and a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor. I am trauma informed and practice from an attachment-base model. I use strength-based assessments to develop an individualized treatment plan for each client that is based upon the identified needs.

My specialty and passion is working with men (adolescent & adult) that are struggling with a wide range of issues; in particular, identity issues/crises, life transitions, codependence, difficulty with relationships, and/or anxiety/depression. I utilize a more direct approach to therapy, similar to coaching, yet explore with clients the underlying therapeutic themes that are fueling their struggles. In addition to my area of specialization, I also enjoy working with family systems (adult & adolescent) that desire a spiritual focus in their relational growth but find themselves stuck in communication, connection and/or commitment.

I specialize in DBT, EMDR, trauma-attachment, grief and loss, body image and self esteem, LGBTQ and Gender-affirming care, mood and personality disorders. I believe that people can change by meeting them where they are at in their own mental health journey. It is important to me that people feel accepted and safe as their authentic self while working with me.

I have just relocated to the Valley and plan on using my experience and training in Geriatrics and Chronic Illness. I approach any situation using a strength based perspective, and reviewing current relationships. I have counseled many on loss and have been successful with clients utilizing meaning inspired psychotherapy.
