I work with individuals struggling with stress, depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, as well as individuals in toxic/stressful romantic relationships, who find that they choose incompatible partners.
I have a wait list currently....Many people struggle with shame. Shame is the belief "something is wrong with you". You know that nagging voice that shows up from time to time telling you "You're not good enough". Shame comes from our experiences in life. Each experience especially in our younger years creates beliefs about ourselves which can create struggles including depression, anxiety and low self esteem.

My clients come to me to deal with depression, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, and parenting problems, as well as adolescence/ phase of life issues, blended families, and other change of life/adjustment issues.
In 1991, I received a Master's degree in Social work and I've been providing mental health services ever since. In over 20 years of practice, I've realized that there is no treatment model that fits every situation, so I take an eclectic approach, tailoring treatment to fit each client. Some models I use are Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Family Systems Theory, Insight-Oriented Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy.

Throughout the years, life events, both big and small, are inevitable. These events challenge and shape who we are and how we respond to others and situations. Occasionally, we begin to have large or abnormal responses to people or situations others would most likely not have. These responses can affect a multitude of areas in our lives. This can cause higher levels of depression, anxiety, OCD, dissociation, negative self-esteem, weight gain/loss, and even suicidal thoughts. Here at Inside Out, you will find highly skilled therapists who only strive for excellence in their therapeutic practice and will walk with you on your journey.

My experience includes working with issues related to anxiety, grief, trauma, ADHD, and mood disorders.
Accepting new clients! Sometimes our anxiety, trauma, and mood can get in the way of waking up and being excited about where we are going with our life. It can feel difficult to feel confident in our careers, ourselves, and the future when we are plagued with unwanted thoughts/feelings and "what if" scenarios. Are past traumas, low self-worth, and fear keeping you from becoming the person you were born to be? Do you ever feel like you are constantly trying to figure out "what's wrong with me?" instead of learning to unravel your unique gifts and talents? If so, let’s chat to see if I can help you.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
