I am currently only accepting clients for online therapy! You are the greatest project you will ever work on. Often times we make ourselves the last priority, but when you take the time to fill your own cup and heal from hurt and trauma, you free yourself up to experience peace. I am passionate about working with individuals & couples and creating a safe space for clients to be transparent and culture an environment for personal growth. I use an eclectic therapeutic approach to therapy including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

I am an IITAP Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), Certified Daring Way Facilitator, trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, EFT-E (couples work), & CPT (PTSD).
I SEE you. I see you hustling to get more done—to be the perfect parent/spouse/employee/leader. I see that under your polished exterior, you are exhausted, stressed out, and ready for a change. I see you feel unappreciated, but left frustrated and guilty that you feel this way. I HEAR you. I hear your inner thoughts, “I’m working myself ragged, and I’m still not enough.” “If I could just (blank) then I will be happy.” “Why does it come easier for (blank)?" But I also hear the quiet whisper that says, “despite it all, I’m still trying.” I specialize in working with Betrayal Trauma, Sex Addiction, A.R.T. for Trauma, and Groups.

I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) helping couples explore relational patterns and addressing areas of connection and intimacy.
Currently Accepting Individuals and Couples! Life can feel messy some days. Our most important relationships can suffer leaving us feeling alone, hurt, betrayed and just plain stuck! We were designed for connection and without it we struggle. We have a deep down desire to be seen, heard and known. When we can't find connection in our most important relationships we may rely on strategies that serve us for a season but are not sustainable for our healing and growth.

I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy and incorporate this into work with couples and families.
Great Relationships aren’t great because they have no challenges or struggles. Great relationships are great because individuals choose to find a way to make the relationship work. Sometimes, that includes relationship/family counseling. As a family and relationship therapist, I am here to help you work through the many challenges and struggles that often prevent couples/families from moving forward. I believe in individualizing treatment to help each family member/partner feel heard and loved.

I'm trained in EFT, EMDR, and Prepare-Enrich for premarital counseling.
When we are our most stuck, lost, or alone, is when profound change can happen. This coming home to yourself might mean building anew, or it might mean re-aligning with your true self. If you’ve been feeling anxious or out of control, know that relief is possible. Today, you can find the courage to step closer to the life you know you want to live. I can help. I will start by asking you what you want and what you want to change. It's ok to need gentle guidance to uncover these answers. Through our conversations, I hope to empower you to soften your inner critic, feel more grounded + connected with yourself, and live with more peace.

Finding yourself is a complex and ultimately rewarding journey affecting mind, body and soul. It requires listening to the sadness and confusion when life has become meaningless, depressing, anxiety ridden and overwhelming. Our potential lies in the unconscious with its knowledge. This can be revealed through the Jungian analytical approach aimed at the present distress as it opens to future development. There we discover unknown personality aspects, the limiting attitudes, complexes and patterns working no longer. Their transformation moves us into our more authentic self. From this comes joy, creativity and hope.

Your well-being is the foundation that serves you in life and self-care can often fall to the bottom of the list. Although life may seem uneasy right now, addressing your own needs should not be seen as a selfish act, but rather a path to self-preservation. Reaching out for support is not always easy and getting the support you desire is the highest priority.

I work primarily with women who are struggling with identity crises and self-acceptance, depression and anxiety, self-trust and overwhelm. First, we have a history-taking and goal-setting session. We then use gentle self-care to establish a healthy mental wellness routine. Next, I guide you toward your goals. Our work together is complete, usually after 6-12 months, when you have met those goals and have a strong, accepting sense of who you are.

Emotionally Focused Therapists

Who is emotionally focused therapy for?

Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.

Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?

People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.

What happens in emotionally focused therapy?

Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.

What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?

EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
