Welcome! I am Timothy Gartz, MSW Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Mesa, Arizona. My greatest desire is to provide a professional environment of trust in order to explore any of your challenges or life adjustments. I am a skilled therapist with 20 years of practical experience in a variety of locations and settings including private practice, broad state health clinics in Hawaii, St. Louis, and Denver as well as internationally in Hong Kong and Shanghai. These experiences allow me to provide personalized solution focused services that are culturally competent and tailor made to help you regain confidence and achieve your goals.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor by the State of Arizona, I work with adults and adolescents on a range of mental health issues from depression, anxiety disorders, substance use, obsession and compulsion, self-harm and trauma.

Compassionately supporting individuals and families experiencing grief/loss is my passion. Many people I see are experiencing the challenges including grief/loss, divorce, parenting challenges, postpartum, anxiety and depression. I've had the honor of helping many individuals heal from trauma and lead joyful lives.

Everyone at some point needs someone who will focus solely on them and their feelings. Someone who will listen without judgment. This is especially true when everyday tasks are overwhelming and exhausting. Taking a shower can be a monumental task. Things that used to be fun aren’t anymore. The thought of hanging out with family and friends means taking on the exhausting task of acting “normal”. Not being able to do these “simple” things can create a spiral of shame and guilt. And it doesn’t help when no one seems to get what you are experiencing and feeling.

I apply a holistic approach as a pathway to increase your optimal wellbeing. This holistic approach, combined with your personal goals, creates an experience that is personal and unique to you. As your therapist, I will design a session tailored to your needs. I use Somatic Experiencing along with other forms of wellness specialties in working with those who are struggling with work/life balance, PTSD, anxiety, stress, marginalization, systems of oppression, ancestral trauma/intergenerational trauma, self-esteem, and life transitions.

I believe that we all have the ability to heal and reach our goals. My ultimate objective is to provide my clients with the tools to gain greater self-awareness and empower them to transform their life. My background includes working with children (ages 10+), adolescents, young adults, and families. If you and/or your child have experienced trauma or adversity, we can work together to find new ways to manage stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, behavioral concerns, or difficulties in relationships.

I will work with you to determine treatment goals and will integrate a variety of therapeutic techniques to meet your individual needs. My approach is direct, compassionate, and respectful. My goal is for you to leave each therapy session with hope and feeling empowered. I want you to know that feeling better is possible for you and change can last. My intention is to help you recognize your value, learn to regulate your emotions, tolerate distress, effectively communicate your thoughts, feelings, and desires and create a life worth living.

I have immediate openings in my schedule in-person and virtual on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. I have a passion for working with children, adolescents, and teens, and young adults who experience anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and relationship conflicts. My name is Carly and I am a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in Arizona. I received my Bachelor's degree in Justice Studies and Sociology from Arizona State University, a Master's in Forensic Psychology from Argosy University, and my Master's in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. I primarily work with teens, adults, elder adults (65+), couples, and families who are struggling or are in need of additional support.

My first goal as a therapist is to help my clients understand what is happening to them and give them tools to make them feel better as soon as possible. I specialize in working with clients who are dealing with the Trauma of Betrayal, Unwanted Sexual Addictions, Narcissistic Abuse, Childhood Trauma and Marital Relationship Issues. I compassionately guide my clients in understanding and changing their unhealthy thinking patterns, reframing their self-limiting, shame-based beliefs and in reprocessing the trauma held in their body. I am passionate about working with teenagers and adults who are looking to gain a deeper insight into their lives and the problems and challenges they may be facing. A few of the therapeutic techniques I utilize include EMDR, CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), DBT (Dialectal Behavior Therapy), person-centered & strengths-based approaches.

My career in social services has given me the rare opportunity and privilege to accompany others throughout much of life’s journey--from the miracle of birth, as an adoption advocate to helping senior populations and their families as a counsellor managing long term care and end of life issues. One of the universal truths that I have learned is that struggle and adversity is an inescapable part of the human experience.
