I operate a small and quaint private practice aimed at providing competent psychological services for a variety of mental health issues, symptoms, and disorders. I generally work with individuals who are experiencing issues with mood/emotional regulation, relationships, anxiety, panic, phobias, work performance, parenting, and navigating adolescence. I also have worked with individuals struggling with anger issues for many years. My availability to take new patients varies depending on our current patient load. However, I am currently only accepting new patients for evaluation.

Our bodies and brains are incredibly designed to heal, grow, and change, allowing us to live our stories with intention, resilience, and healthy relationships. My goal is to walk alongside you, helping you rediscover the tools and strengths you were created with, so you can experience meaningful growth and transformation in your life. I began my counseling journey with a Master of Arts in Counseling from Phoenix Seminary. From there, I gained valuable experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds at a domestic violence shelter for over four years.

What is trauma? In the more than 20 years that I've been working in the field of counseling, I've come to discover that though some trauma is obvious (physical abuse, sexual abuse, military experience, car accidents, etc) so much more is less obvious and really relevant to your experience. What one person might consider just a bump in the road, another might feel is an impossible obstacle to get over. Your trauma is relative to your experiences. Regardless, of whether you feel stuck, unable to "get over it", or just that you keep having problems that you can't get passed, it's worth it to get help.

Therapy provides a unique opportunity to develop a safe and supportive relationship to assist in creating meaningful change. After years of training and practice I have come to realize that this change must involve a deeper healing. As human beings we experience challenges throughout our lives that can feel overwhelming and often traumatic. Without the support, skills or resources in these times we end up needing to develop short term coping strategies that may be causing long term problems. I specialize in working with adult professionals struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, guilt/shame, trauma and/or relationship difficulties.

As we navigate pregnancy, birth, and parenthood, we are often challenged. Struggling with infertility. Feeling fearful as we prepare for our upcoming birth. Looking for a safe place to process birth trauma. Experiencing postpartum depression/anxiety. Difficulties adjusting to change. Seeking resolution about the past so we can be the kind of parents we want to be. Yearning to parent differently than we were raised, but not sure how. I will absolutely challenge you to do the work in these areas. And I will also be there to support you as you prioritize yourself and watch the rest of the pieces fall into place.

Thank you for arriving here safely. If you are ready to schedule your first session, that is great! Acknowledging you are at a “stuck point” and taking action to improve your life takes courage. Just reach out to me by email–I look forward to getting to know you and working together toward your goals. I am a licensed psychologist, teaching and practicing psychotherapy since 2007.
