I treat clients ranging in age from 15+. I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy to treat trauma, anxiety, addictions, etc. CBT and other therapies can also be implemented to assist in addressing needs. Dr. Hallstrom, PhD, LISAC, LCDC has a passion for helping those that silently suffer with substance abuse (i.e. nicotine, alcohol, excessive caffeine, marijuana, street drugs and prescription drugs, etc.) and their co-occurring disorders (i.e. trauma, depression, personality disorders, anxiety, ADHD, etc.). Dr. Hallstrom offers counseling for clients that are 12 years or older, individuals and couples.

I'm a Licensed Associate Counselor. I earned a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University. I counsel individuals and couples. My special focus is pornography and sexual addiction. I use a scientific approach. I am also a therapist living my Catholic faith. I am prepared to speak to your Christian faith if you desire faith-based therapy. I'm also a U.S. Air Force retiree. It is my honor and desire to serve Veterans and First Responders with their mental, emotional, and relationship challenges.

I work with couples and adults. People I have had the pleasure to work with are often in a transitional period of their life and feel stuck working through it on their own. You may fit criteria for the following issues: depression, anxiety, bipolar, chronic illness, sexual dysfunctions (including painful sex, low desire, erectile disorder, achieving orgasm too quickly, or not at all, STI diagnoses, sexual identity and/or orientation exploration, difficulty communicating with partners, partners who have mental health disorders, self-esteem, and body image challenges. I am a good fit for folks who are open to doing exercises at home.

Joel earned his Master's in Social Work from Arizona State University and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Joel has been practicing in the field for 10 years. Joel completed a 2 year counseling residency where he was extensively trained in CBT, DBT, ACT, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Gottman Couple's Therapy and in treating personality disorders. Joel also led DBT skills training group therapy for nearly 2 years during his residency. Since, he has been trained in Level 1 and 2 of EMDR. Joel has worked with substance related issues for the duration of his practice.

I believe that we all have the ability to heal and reach our goals. My ultimate objective is to provide my clients with the tools to gain greater self-awareness and empower them to transform their life. My background includes working with children (ages 10+), adolescents, young adults, and families. If you and/or your child have experienced trauma or adversity, we can work together to find new ways to manage stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, behavioral concerns, or difficulties in relationships.

As a licensed counselor I work with individuals, couples and families who have experienced trauma, including shame; as well as clients with anxiety, depression and addictions. I also specialize in working with children who have autism, anxiety, ADHD and sensory processing issues, as well as with their family members. I work with clients to help heal their attachment wounds and to integrate their past traumas so they no longer act as triggers in their lives. Working with couples and families to assist them in understanding their triggers and emotions and in communicating in a validating and empathic way is my strength.

I am passionate about providing a safe space for people to heal from trauma they have experienced and treating trauma-related dissociation. I really enjoy working with couples to help them understand underlying emotional patterns that affect their relationship and helping them discover new ways of interacting with one another. I also believe people deserve to be their authentic selves and am passionate about being a safe support to the LGBTQIA+ community.

I come with a wide range of experience, working with children in residential treatment as young as 11 y.o., through outpatient treatment to age 70. Often times, counseling is the first place someone learns to identify and untangle the traumas of their life to become the best version of themselves in the present. My focus is to understand the unique goals of each person and help them achieve those goals with compassion and patience.
