I was born in Salinas and lived in California for the majority of my life. I am proud to have had the honor to serve in the military for five years. I have 18 years of experience providing psychotherapy in California's central valley. I have been licensed in California since 2012 and became licensed in Arizona in 2020. I am new to the Phoenix area and feel excited to start working with the community here as well. My theoretical approach to counseling is eclectic where I incorporate cognitive-behavioral, client-centered, and psychodynamic treatment.

ARISE is a non-profit office that strives to provide counseling services to individuals, families/couples, veterans, first responders and Native Americans. We offer counseling services ages 5+. Additionally, an Intensive Outpatient Program is available for 18+. Our providers use a variety of theoretical perspectives and modalities. The patients’ situation, needs, culture, and spiritual prospective are taken into consideration. ARISE team consist of Psychiatrists, Licensed Professional and Associate Counselors, Licensed Social Workers, Nurse Practitioners, BHTs, Veteran Peer Support, and Case Managers.

Dealing with life can be stressful, which can lead to anxiety, stress, depression & many other emotions. This can leave us feeling completely overwhelmed, with little hope that things will ever get better, but I know that people are capable of extraordinary things when we open our hearts to having someone present through the journey to self-improvement. As a Christian, I believe we're interconnected & life's journey is to be shared with others. As a hospice caregiver, I witness good people at their very worst times. So, I know there's a need for people to feel heard, seen, valued, respected, encouraged & supported.

I have worked for many years with individuals and couples at all stages of life who are motivated to constructively change their lives and attempt to live medication free if possible through understanding of their past traumatic experiences and growth toward healthy and constructive behavioral change .

If you want to live a more fulfilling life and attempt to live medication free, I can help you discover and work through past issues preventing you from doing so. Rather than masking and not resolving issues with medication, I believe behavioral change can occur through exercise, healthy eating, relaxation techniques and the use of cognitive behavioral strategies. Because so many people lack a positive support network, I encourage spiritual connection and support systems within the local community. Although I practice from a Christian perspective I do not impose my beliefs on clients.

Jerry Andrews is a Licensed Marriage, Family, and Child Therapist, as well as a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor. He has a Masters degree in Counseling with an emphasis on Marriage, Family, and Child. His experience in behavioral health began in the mid 1990's, holding positions such as: group home staff worker for troubled youth, case manager for the severely mentally ill population, and site manager/director for a psychiatric outpatient mental health facility. These roles have helped strengthen what Mr. Andrews offers as a therapist, and have allowed him to approach each case in a comprehensive manner.

I treat every client with compassion and through a lens of non-judgment. I spent six years working in community mental health and have treated marginalized/underserved peoples. I love helping clients through phase of life issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, mood struggles, and more. I apply an integrated approach and use motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and person-centered therapy. I am social justice oriented.

I have experience working with children, teens, adults, families and couples. My specialty is helping clients learn to self-regulate emotions. I have extensive experience working with individuals and children who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, children that are bullied, struggle with self-esteem, live in high stress homes, are coping with a divorce or separation of parents or grief and loss.

Jessica Lascaris is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Arizona and a Licensed Clinical Marriage Family Therapist/ Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor in the State of Kansas. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies Human Services and a minor in Women’s Studies. She then continued her career and graduated with a Master of Science in Family Therapy and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Mind-Body Medicine.Jessica has worked in many clinical settings and with multiple age ranges. She has developed her therapy practice around person-centered care and trauma-informed practice.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience in working with a wide range of clientele and presenting concerns. I started my career working at a local non-profit agency with children ages 0-18 and their families, including biological, blended, foster, and adoptive. I have also worked in an inpatient hospital setting treating adolescents ages 11-17 in crisis and facing a variety of mental health-related challenges. In private practice, I work with children, teens, adults and couples to strengthen relationships and heal emotional wounds. I am also EMDR trained to help you process and heal trauma.
