I would love the opportunity to support your family in overcoming obstacles and facing new challenges.
Let's face it — it's a big confusing world out there. And sometimes, we all need a little help to get through it. Hi, I'm Betheny. I have been working with kids and families for nearly a decade to do just that. Therapy can help people process trauma, cope with stressors, and allow them to live their best lives — and I feel honored and humbled to be part of that process.

Do you find yourself struggling to get up in the morning, not finding joy in activities that you used to love, feeling nervous in social situations or having challenges in trusting others? For many people, their adult lives and relationships are complicated by childhood trauma, or unhelpful beliefs about themselves and others which they learned at a early age. Daily stressors that others seem to manage without difficulty may seem daunting and overwhelming for you.

I have worked in the mental health field for over 10 years with individuals, children and families. There is something special and rewarding about seeing someone overcome obstacles and setbacks in their life with the help of genuine encouragement and guidance. I especially feel proud to assist someone in the process of addressing trauma and getting the chance to see the other side of a feeling that has held them down for too long. I received my masters degree in social work (LCSW) from Arizona State

Life is full of ups and downs. In recent times, for many of us, there have been more “downs” than usual. Maybe you want to connect with someone impartial so you can get back “up.” Maybe you’re experiencing a major life change that has left you feeling stuck. Maybe you’ve realized that events or memories from your past are causing you more trouble day-to-day than ever before. While life is unpredictable, what is certain is that we all need a little help sometimes (and it’s ok to ask for it!).

My name is Barbara Pease, LCSW. I have been a practicing therapist for 26 years. I won’t be telling you anything that I haven’t had to learn for myself. I have worked with persons from different cultures and walks of life. I have been through counseling myself and know how Difficult it is to open up to a stranger about my thoughts and past experiences. I am non-judgmental and I am open to suggestions for my own improvement. I recognize that everyone’s life situation is unique and I keep that in mind as I work with new clients. Living an emotionally well life does not mean you will not experience stress, daily hassles, depression

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
