As a Certified EMDR Therapist and an EMDR Consultant In Training, I journey with clients to understand what is at the root of their symptoms to find freedom and healing.
Some of my favorite words come from Brene Brown when she said, "Empathy has no script. There is no right or wrong way to do it. It is simply listening, holding space, withholding judgement, emotionally connecting and communicating that incredibly healing message of 'You Are Not Alone.' " I am here to provide that space for you while you work to overcome trauma or significant life experiences. It takes courage and vulnerability to begin the therapy process. I consider it a privilege to hear your story and walk alongside you.

In my practice, I take an integrative approach and frequently utilize EMDR, ego-state and somatic therapies due to their effectiveness in addressing the root causes of dysfunction.
Thank you for taking the time to look over my profile and remain open to the idea of therapy helping to improve your circumstances. If you or a loved one is struggling then I'd like to help. I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, compulsive behavior, sexual issues, depression and grief/loss concerns. However, above all else, my biggest focus in the therapeutic process is on building a genuine, healing and supportive human connection with you. If you allow me the opportunity to walk with you in this chapter of your journey then in return you will have someone who is deeply committed to supporting you in and out of the office.

I am trained in CBT, DBT, and EMDR.
Are you often worried or think of the worst-case scenario? Do you feel lonely but embarrassed you will burden others if you reach out? Maybe you feel you are “too emotional or too much.” Do you often feel out of place? Is it difficult to find your voice and set boundaries? Sometimes we may need someone with an outside perspective to listen, and remind us of our strengths. ¡Saludos! My name is Lluliana, and I am excited you are here! I take a trauma-oppression-informed approach to treating anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, childhood trauma, and other issues.

I use cutting edge practices such as KAP (ketamine), EMDR, IFS (level 2), & hypnosis.
Welcome! I have been in practice over a decade and have learned that by gaining understanding and compassion for ourselves, our innate healing potential will emerge. I love to help other professionals in the field and I am a AZBBHE clinical supervisor. A quote by Rumi expresses it this way "your task is not to seek love, but to merely seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it" I use a "non-pathologizing lens" to see my clients holistically and help them make connections to how their past experiences have shaped the narratives and emotions they experience today.

I offer a trauma informed approach to therapy which draws largely from training and experience with EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Emotional Freedom Technique.
Currently offering evening appointments. Can you relate to the following questions? How do I manage anxiety and depression so that the present moment is not so overwhelming? How can I change the negative view of myself and unwanted behaviors which seem to be driven by the past? How can my partner and I communicate our needs and concerns without triggering defensiveness in each other and keep from slipping into the same negative relationship patterns?

Do you find yourself struggling to keep afloat, noticing that despite all your work something's missing? I would like to help you break that cycle. I specialize in supporting high-achieving adults to harness the compassion and power within themselves to live their dreams and chase their goals, all while feeling whole and fulfilled. I understand that self-doubt, comparison, and criticism are powerful forces that can take a serious toll on your mental health.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
