As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I have been practicing for over 25 years in many diverse settings/issues including: marital, premarital, and family counseling, anxiety, depression, eating disorders (inpatient and outpatient settings) abuse/trauma, self-harm, anger, substance abuse/addictions, and domestic violence.
Are you feeling frustrated in close relationships and wondering if it's possible to achieve harmony? Are you hoping to make changes within yourself to create a better life? These positive changes are possible but sometimes the pathway to get there is unclear. I help individuals, couples and families to identify dysfunctional patterns then provide tools to establish new patterns that help create healthier relationships and deepen intimacy. For couples therapy, I utilize an advanced couples therapy approach called EFT (Emotion Focused Therapy) which significantly helps the couple to increase and/or establish a securely attached relationship bond.

Brianne believes that each of her clients are an expert and the ultimate healer of what troubles them. Often the inability to identify or communicate their troubles is the real issues that prevents them from feeling better. That is where her specialties can bridge the gap.

The training I have received in evidenced-based, cutting edge therapy modalities such as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Psychodrama, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Post Induction Therapy (PIT), and Sex Addiction (CSAT) provide me with the skills needed.
I specialize in treating clients who are struggling with multiple addictions, mood regulation, trauma, behavioral, and relational issues. Many of my clients report struggling with trying to fill a void, feeling lost, or stuck. This may show up as some sort of unhealthy coping mechanism such as an addiction, unhealthy relationships, or a behavioral issue. Only temporary relief may be found until the true underlying issues are addressed. Together we can uncover what is underneath your struggles and address what we find. Facing underlying trauma while concurrently looking at the presenting issues is what I do

Are you or your family dealing with the challenges of conflict, anxiety, depression, divorce, or another life struggle? Is your child or teen struggling to manage emotions or having behavioral issues? These issues can impact your family's ability to have strong meaningful connections and be overwhelming to deal with. This can be a confusing time for everyone in the family and you or your child or teen may be feeling exhausted and have little hope that it can change.

She believes everyone wants to be seen and understood. Her entire life is built upon this truth. Many messages we carry with us are rooted in shame and distorted thinking and we don't know any other way than this. Her approach is targeted at getting to the root of these shame messages, and with new tools and understanding, there lies an opportunity at healing. It works when we do the work, and she will walk with you as you start a new chapter of healing in your life.

People come to therapy for many reasons. You may simply not be living the most satisfying life. Or perhaps you are experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression, which could be negatively impacting your relationships, your goals, or your general well-being. Life's challenges and obstacles are often difficult to overcome alone, but being able to cope and change behavior is possible with tools learned in counseling. Therapy can help to identify what is not working in your life, so that you can achieve your goals.

I have found that clients who are the most successful in their counseling journey are those who are ready to work on what brings them in. While clients may not be able to identify their specific goals, they are motivated for a change to occur. Motivation is what propels each client throughout the counseling process to achieve the goals that we establish together.

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
