Hello and welcome! I'm glad you're here. We all face challenges in life. We desire closeness, connection, recognition, peace. Yet often these elude us. Instead, depression, anxiety, and lack of connection or meaning are familiar. We long to restore these connections and find success, even joy! It is my aim to come alongside my clients and their families, and support them in the journey back towards health and wholeness - to find tools to cope and grow in the present as well as build healing for a fulfilling future. I am passionate about a lot of things, foremost of which is helping individuals struggling with sex addiction, maladaptive sexual behaviors, intimacy disorders, and problematic gambling. I am also EMDR trained and utilize this technique for trauma healing. I focus on recovery from trauma, whether related to addiction or family-of-origin issues. I believe trauma affects everyone in different ways and requires its own unique recovery process consisting of blending addictions and trauma models together. Every individual has the capacity to heal and move forward on their journey towards health and happiness.

Yá'át'ééh Hi Shí éí (I am) Davina Morris. My clans are Todích'íí'nii (Bitter Water), born for Mexican American, my maternal grandparents are (Tsi'naajinii). I’ve worked primarily with adolescents providing individual therapy, family therapy, and psychoeducational groups. Adolescents are the population that resonates with me the most because they have unheard voices. I’ve found that listening to our youth is not only a teaching from my Diné culture, but I believe that we all have our own cultures that have similar insights. I know we can return to a culturally holistic approach to listening to teens and listening to one another.

I am a specialist in working with couples to help them build closeness and safety. I am passionate about supporting people in living their most authentic lives, both in relationships and individually. I utilize an experiential therapy approach, embracing the belief that everyone has the ability for creating change for healthier relationships with others and self. I have experience working with children and families with culturally diverse backgrounds, including veterans and the LGBTQ+ community. I also have experience working with individuals on decreasing the daily impact of anxiety and depression and processing trauma.

Joan Dewey (she/her), brings 25 + years of practice experience having worked for many years in rural/remote integrated team settings with indigenous groups. She is licensed to provide psychotherapy (telehealth) in Alaska and Arizona. Ms. Dewey moved from Alaska in 2019, now lives in Northern Arizona, and continues to work with individuals of all ages, life circumstances, including those with histories of traumatic events, grief/loss, depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, addictions, and life transitions. She is BIPOC and LGBTQ+ affirming.

This practice is designed to work with my clients not on them. We are engaged in enhancing abilities and strengths through the art of Theracoaching, an integrative approach where both the client and the practitioner are focused on their goals. You as the client work with the Theracoach to identify these goals and join them either in or out of the office to locate methods in achieving these opportunities. Whether that is school, work, relationships, frustrations with getting started, or negative habits formed. The primary focus in this practice is helping those with ASD, LD, ADHD, and co-morbid conditions.

I have a special interest in working with First Responders, humanitarian aid workers, chronic and complex PTSD, dissociative disorders, childhood histories of trauma and abuse, and grief work. Depending on client needs, I integrate several therapeutic modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Attachment Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

I became a licensed counselor in 2012. Prior to that I was mentored by some highly-trained LMFT’s in Utah. The spark for clinical work came in 2007 while working as a Case Manager at a Residential Treatment Center for teens in beautiful St George, Utah. I guess I was destined for the desert and never knew it. I’ve had two beautiful children since then— who are my world. I’ve worked in private practice, outpatient and inpatient at several phoenix hospitals, outpatient clinic, and a state prison.

As a licensed therapist, I have supported a variety of people in resolving troublesome situations that have been limiting their ability to effectively meet the challenges of their daily lives. These situations may be related to their jobs, relationships with friends and family, or the negative self-talk that we impose on ourselves.
