Life can be difficult and there are so many things that happen to us that are out of our control when things happen externally it affects us in a negative way internally. Sometimes it may not even be our circumstances but our thoughts and negative distortions that have manifested over the years and are causing us extreme distress and an inability to be able to cope with everyday life. When this becomes our reality we often feel powerless to change. I have a passion to walk alongside individuals to offer support and encouragement by creating a safe space where you feel heard and valued.

My counseling approach is based on family systems theory and includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

I also provide therapy services for adults struggling with depression, anxiety, anger management, as well as other difficulties.

My goal with my clients is for them to work towards a Healthy balance of Body, Mind & Spirit. I have been in private practice for over 32 years and my main focus has been to work with Christians to help them do their work in dealing with the issues that have they have experienced in their life. They need to do their work so they do not continue to live in the dysfunction of their past. I help them to have a healthy psychology and a healthy theology to live a better life. I always explain Christian Counseling to secular counseling is the secular counseling is from the neck up and Christian Counseling is from the neck both ways.

As a therapist I specialize in trauma and stress. I am a combat veteran and career first responder and I strive to serve those who served, however I accept clients from all walks of life. My clinical orientation is Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, however I am also trained in Dialectic Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness Based Trauma Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy. I see clients in both the Phoenix and Chandler locations.

Dawnmarie has worked with ages 3 all the way to geriatric clients. Dawnmarie is experienced in working with individuals, families, and couples. Dawnmarie is trained in play therapy, trauma informed care, Cognitive behavioral therapy, and Dialectical behavioral therapy. Dawnmarie focuses in the whole body and understanding how our brain are bodies connect with one another. Dawnmarie has worked in outpatient, inpatient, and residential settings. Dawnmarie has experince working with a variety of diagnoses, co-occuring disorders, and serious mental illness diagnoses.

I love to help people. I believe that therapy helps everyone at different parts of life. I love working with kids, adults, families, couples and teens. I use DBT and CBT to talk about mindfulness, awareness, perspective and trauma. I am trauma certified and enjoy helping people with the good and bad traumas of life. Working on your goals is very important. I like to think that we work on you as a whole person. I teach a lot of coping skills because some work now and some may work later but a lot of tools within your toolbox is important.

I am skilled intern who is compassionate about working with the local community on helping with your mental health needs. I have worked in community mental health for 3 years and am continuing to make strides in my education to assist clients seeking mental health treatment/services. I am dedicated to providing exceptional care and effective treatment to individuals. I am working under a clinical supervisor at Modern Wellness Psychotherapy and Healing.

At Pulse Healthcare Solutions we provide medication management to our patients Mondays through Fridays from 8 AM to 5 PM. We are closed from 12 pm to 1 pm for lunch, and on most major holidays. Same day appointments and walk in appts are available.
