I chose to become a therapist after doing social work with children and families. Witnessing the trauma and the way that trauma impacted those individual lives caused me to develop an interest in and concern for individuals struggling with CPTSD, PTSD and childhood trauma. I have always enjoyed listening to people's stories and making a genuine connection. I believe in the healing power of therapy and the importance of the therapeutic relationship. I believe in the importance of active listening and making you feel truly heard, cared about, safe, and understood. The majority of my experience is as a child and family therapist.

Hope Social was created to do things differently, by merging mental wellness tools and a supportive peer group together, to promote real change and long-lasting healing. Isolation is an epidemic in Arizona and our young people are suffering. Hope Social brings our youth together to work on their journeys with others who understand their experience. Connection is at the root of healing and Hope Social is supporting our young people in reconnecting with each other and reconnecting with life.

***I am mostly unable to accept new therapy clients. I am only accepting clients for psychological, psychoeducational, DDD, and gifted evaluations at this time. Wait time for a psychological eval is approximately 6 months. Wait time for a gifted eval is about 4 weeks*** My goal to assist children, teens, and young adults in reaching their full potential. I seek to provide services that better equip a child or adolescent to make positive choices, to overcome and move forward from significant loss and negative experiences, to feel good about him or herself, and to feel capable of achieving all that he or she desires.

Shireen has more than 25 years of experience working in the mental health and substance abuse fields, both in community behavioral health and in private practice settings. She has extensive experience working with individuals, families, and groups from many diverse backgrounds and understands the importance that culture plays in helping people address their unmet needs. Shireen believes in the mind/body connection and utilizes an integrative and holistic approach to empower individuals to increase their awareness and self-efficacy. She draws on the client's own strengths, recognizing that the client is the expert of their own life.

Patients I've treated need help in their suffering. Life has become so overwhelmingly helpless and stressful that they break. They suffer with anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, fear, anger, depression, grief, fracture of reality, marital and relationship issues, and suicidal ideations. They want peace. They want someone who cares and can give them hope there are better days ahead. My patients want someone who can relate and understand what they're going through. They want someone they can trust and is knowledgeable and able to help. They are tired of running in circles and hearing the same thing over and over with no results.

I also provide therapy services for adults struggling with depression, anxiety, anger management, as well as other difficulties.
