I work with couples and adult individuals dealing with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, transitional issues, infidelity, and problems with communication.

I enjoy helping clients work through whatever concern or crisis they have. Being able to watch as someone makes the connections or meets a goal is always rewarding and the best part of the job.

The Clinic was launched to honor our mission of serving the community by providing affordable and inclusive therapy services at the highest level of care, while offering quality training and development to clinicians. Our team is committed to creating a welcoming and safe environment for individuals, couples, and families of all lifestyles and stages of their relationships. We offer affordable therapy options starting at $40 per hour with one of our Graduate Clinical Interns, as well as options with highly experienced therapists that have been practicing for 10-20+ years. We have someone for everyone!

While there are common challenges encountered in life, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and stress, they often leave us feeling alone; but we are not meant to heal alone! By nurturing an empathetic, client-centered counseling relationship, I strive to create a space that honors the unique stories and lived experiences of each client, couple, and family while supporting clients as they build a toolkit that promotes balance, growth, and improved relationships with self and others.

First, I want to acknowledge the significance of the steps you are taking to seek support, as I know this process can feel scary and overwhelming. I enjoy working with individuals from adolescence all the way into late-life transitions. I believe that at any age or stage in life, we all have opportunities to make positive changes and increase our wellness. I have experience working with diverse populations of different ages, cultural backgrounds, stages in life, and mental health needs including anxiety-based disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, grief and loss, substance use, and trauma.

As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, I provide psychotherapy, counseling and consultation services to adults. My practice includes many people feeling depressed, discouraged, anxious, or seem to be unable to make progress as they should. My approach is recovery oriented and strength based. I focus on instilling hope in individuals and families to help achieve health and wellness, lead a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential. I adapt my approach using mix of techniques for individual specific challenges and goals. Identifying and building on strengths; tailoring treatment based on your unique needs.

My journey into this field was inspired by a desire to provide unwavering support to expecting and new mothers, fostering emotional well-being during one of life's most transformative phases. I also integrate mindfulness-based practices from my background as a trained yoga instructor, as well as offer EMDR for trauma, including birth trauma. My ideal client is someone that is suffering from anxiety, depression, mood disorders, personality dysfunction, or trauma-related symptoms and is looking for reprieve. My client would be willing to learn coping skills to help reduce their symptoms to be able to resume normal, daily functioning. I appreciate clients that provide feedback, even if it is negative as it helps me to better assist you. My ideal client is ready to be challenged on occasion as I believe that growth happens best when we are being pushed out of our comfort zones. I am a licensed professional counselor that has been working in behavioral health for over 20 years. I am a lifelong resident of South Jersey and obtained my Bachelors and Masters degrees from La Salle University in Philadelphia.

Melissa Hawes is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona who has been practicing since 2016. She has a Masters of Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. Melissa is skilled in narcissistic abuse and able to help this population heal from narcissistic trauma, childhood trauma and cumulative trauma. She works well with clients who have experience varied forms of trauma, engaging them in EMDR therapy.

I am excited to offer the services of my private therapy practice for children, adolescents, and their families, as well as adults, Through the Woods Therapy AZ, LLC.   For the past 13 years I have worked with children and their families who have struggled with issues including but not limited to: suicide attempts and ideation, homicidal ideation, family conflict, behavioral issues, aggression, anxiety, emotional and physical abuse, ADHD, defiance, and emotion dysregulation. As I head into retirement, I will no longer be accepting new clients. My modalities include Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment (level 1) developed by Janina Fisher, EMDR, Sensorimotor (level 1 and 2 trained) and Post Induction Therapy (PIT).I have found these modalities useful in restoring relationships in the key areas of life: with self, others, and with a Higher Power. My name is Hope! I am a licensed counselor and practice at Compassionate Heart Christian Counseling in Chandler, AZ, and online via telehealth. I previously attended GCU for my master's degree and am a dog mom to three amazing Yorkie mixes, a lover of Crossfit, a follower of Jesus. My favorite way to spend time is with family and creating art. Clinically, I have experience working with pre-adolescents in intensive outpatient programs using DBT as well as experience working with adults in individual/family sessions with subjects related to grief, attachment, depression, anxiety, etc. I am currently accepting appointments for 09/2024.

Losing hope things can change? I have been working with individuals, families, and couples for over a decade on how to overcome some of the most difficult and perplexing relational issues. My approach is direct and simple, to identify specific patterns, limiting beliefs or behaviors that lead to ineffective outcomes. I work collaboratively with my clients, using unique and innovative methods to gain understanding on root causes, and develop strength- based solutions to create a path for authentic and lasting change. I am also a pioneer in both the creation and facilitation of intensive therapeutic services here at our clinic.

The story we often tell ourselves can be negative and self destructive. From there we create negative patterns in our behaviors, communication, relationships, and daily lives. We self-sabotage because the story we tell ourselves says, “we aren’t good enough.” I have a strong passion in helping individuals, families, and couples redefine their stories, rediscover their inner strengths, and find inner peace. When we are able to see our self worth and reconnect with our values, we are able to create more meaning in our daily lives and relationships, especially the relationship we have with ourselves.
