At times the challenges we are presented with can be painfully overwhelming. Some of our choices and habits along with our need for companionship affect our judgment. Indecisiveness and complacency can manifest as unsatisfying patterns of behavior or disheartening relationships. I believe it is possible to create meaningful changes, to be the person you want to be and live a happy, fulfilling life. For young client's fun and play are important. Incorporating creative, expressive art and play therapy interventions is my specialty. This is a great way to connect with children and teens unresponsive to traditional forms of therapy.

My journey into this field was inspired by a desire to provide unwavering support to expecting and new mothers, fostering emotional well-being during one of life's most transformative phases. I also integrate mindfulness-based practices from my background as a trained yoga instructor, as well as offer EMDR for trauma, including birth trauma. Children and families are often in need of healing. This belief led me to earn my Master’s degree in Marriage, Family and Child therapy. What I have been most inspired by after 16 years of working in this field has been the capacity for inner resilience that people have shown in the face of emotional pain, adversity, and trauma. Although other traditional modalities may be incorporated (ex, CBT), I predominately use a creative, play-based approach. I work with children with behavior difficulties, autism or other developmental needs. This includes helping parents learn parenting techniques specific to their child and learn how to work with the school to create accommodations to help. I also work with children (age 2 and up), youth, young adults and adults regarding anxiety, trauma, depression, adoption and working through change of life stages. Finally, I can bring my experience with all ages together to help improve family communication and dynamics. My dogs work with me to help clients feel welcome and to reduce anxiety in sessions.
