The healing process is a journey that begins with a safe and trusting relationship with your therapist. I provide a non-judgmental therapeutic environment to facilitate your self-exploration. I have experience working with adults from various backgrounds, with a focus on emotional distress, anxiety, depression, adjusting to life transitions (i.e. divorce, new baby), trauma (child sexual assault, domestic violence, and war). I utilize a pragmatic eclectic yet holistic approach which integrates empathy, mindfulness, CBT, DBT, Narrative, and EMDR to promote change.

At Pulse Healthcare Solutions we provide medication management to our patients Mondays through Fridays from 8 AM to 5 PM. We are closed from 12 pm to 1 pm for lunch, and on most major holidays. Same day appointments and walk in appts are available.

The decision to seek therapy is not always an easy one, but can be one of the most beneficial choices a person can make. My main priority as a therapist is to help my clients feel comfortable while offering a neutral and unbiased perspective to their current challenges. I have worked with a variety of presenting concerns, but have extensive experience in attachment-based therapeutic approaches helping couples to address communication issues, sexual relationship concerns, relationship injuries and infidelity. I also have a strong background in working with children and families in the areas of parenting and behavioral challenges.

Life is challenging enough by itself. When you're struggling with other things it makes it harder to get through. Sometimes there are so many challenges to keep us from reaching our goals... things from the past... things that are going on now, making it hard to stay above the surface. In the past I have helped others in their struggles in life, no matter how big they were. As a therapist of almost 20 years I have helped people in numerous ways identify and resolve what has blocked them from reaching new levels of personal freedom. Most of my career has involved working with adults. My focus has predominately included trauma, depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges. I have served in a myriad of roles- from therapist, EAP, and management consulting. Clinically speaking, I love to do EMDR, CBT, and relationship coaching. I also have been trained to do CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy)and PE (Prolonged Exposure). I am a Navy Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and have a passion for Veterans and their families. After 22 years of working with both Veterans and Native Americans, I can say that I take my job seriously.

I have a specialized interest in the treatment and recovery process of those suffering from relational trauma (complex-trauma) that often begins with the family of origin and continues to appear in adult relationships in the form of codependency, love addiction/avoidance, infidelity, betrayal/trauma bonds, attachment disorders and generational trauma. I am certified in Relational Life Therapy (RLT) and trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Post-Induction Therapy (Pia Mellody's PIT) and Eye-Movement-Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I am also very much a proponent of the late John Bradshaw (Healing the Shame That Binds You).

Doctor Willyerd graduated from Arizona State University with a doctorate in behavioral health in 2011. prior to that he had a masters degree in counseling in 2009. Since then his professional career has taken him into helping many at risk individuals such as sex offender youth, children with severe childhood trauma, families with fragile home life and structure, prisoners in the prison system and on suicide watch and prisoners having severe psychotic episodes.

I am a bilingual Child and Family Counselor. My goal as a counselor is to offer clients a safe and warm environment in which they have the opportunity to explore their options for change and growth.
