Some people come into therapy knowing exactly what they want, while others come in with a vague sense that something is wrong; But most people are coming in to find relief; from anxiety, depression, work/life stress, relationship issues, parenting, or trauma, to name a few. My approach is collaborative, pragmatic and flexible. I focus on creating a safe environment by actively and empathically listening, while also providing valuable and straightforward feedback. I integrate a number of different modalities; elements of dynamic and cognitive therapies, as well as specialized treatments like EMDR and Internal Family Systems.
After observing the prevalence of trauma, and its impact on daily lives, I undertook training in EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I utilize aspects of both modalities, in combination with more traditional ones in my work. In addition to therapy, I also offer neuropsych and personality evaluations. As well as pre-adoptive parental evaluations
During my more than 15 years of experience, I have heard a lot of stories, seen a lot of suffering. I have also seen the healing that can take place, the light that can enter as people begin to form a different relationship with themselves and others, and to make peace with parts of themselves they abhor or fear.
