I am a clinical psychologist licensed in New York specializing in individual and couples therapy. In my practice, I work with adults and older adults experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship conflict, and the consequences of traumatic experiences. I also work with individuals looking to gain a deeper understanding of themselves. Much of the way I think about people, relationships, and psychotherapy is rooted in relational, psychodynamic theory which emphasizes non-judgemental curiosity about one’s thoughts, feelings, and behavioral patterns within the context of a therapeutic relationship.
I have extensive training in numerous models of psychotherapy and value any intervention that may help ease suffering. Importantly, I believe that the most humane and person-centered treatments offer flexibility and draw upon a variety of evidence-based interventions.
I know that, for some, engaging with psychotherapy can feel unfamiliar. I try to clarify the process to cultivate a mutual sense of trust, security, and transparency. It is my goal to engage with a sense of humility when working with individuals and couples from a diversity of backgrounds.
