Hi there! My name is Dr. Ashley Swanson, and I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with my doctorate in Education. I am located in Southern California and would be excited to work with you. My focus is teens and young adults who are looking to find their passion(s), self-esteem, and find strategies that will help to overcome any barriers that will hinder personal success. I use motivational interviewing, problem solving therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients make progress and feel empowered.
My approach to therapy is flexible, as each client has different needs. I mostly use motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy. My thoughts are that if one learns to change their mindset, hopefully, they will begin to feel better about themselves.
I believe in a client-centered approach which simply means the client and their needs come first. The goals for each client will be set by the client so as to begin the process of taking ownership of their personal success once those goals are on their way to being achieved.
