I believe that the client’s collaboration with their counselor in the therapeutic relationship is vital to their success. When clients actively participate in the process, they often realize that growth and change are possibilities. Therapy is sometimes taxing and frustrating, and, at times, beyond exasperating. Some might experience anger, frustration, or fear during the process. It is most often necessary to feel these emotions in order to grow and see the changes one desires. When the individual is ready to get real and honest with themselves, there isn't anything that can stop them from making positive changes.
I am strongly influenced by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy. My goal is to provide professional, quality counseling services to my clients. I provide therapy services to school-aged children, adolescents, adults, and couples, who experience trauma, depression, and anxiety for a variety of issues.
My role in the therapeutic relationship is to assist clients in the areas of personal growth through the co-creation of treatment goals. I believe that clients are responsible for their behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. I aim to assist clients in the process of gaining greater self-awareness and reflection. The ultimate goal is client empowerment.
