Recreation Therapy Services, LLC is for young and middle aged adults (18-65 yrs old) dealing with high stress, poor school/work-life balance, boredom, no motivation for activities of interest, and individuals who struggle to find sober enjoyment/relaxation. For the Mental Health population, Recreation Therapy shows people how they can still have fun without abusing substances, hurting themselves, or hurting others, which can be hard to do alone. By utilizing a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, an individual can come to rebuild balance in day to day life using recreation and gain skills needed to improve mental health.
Enjoyment is needed for life balance, so I strive to help people get motivated, consistent, and active in recreational interests. Also, in these post COVID days, I offer Recreation Therapy groups to help connect people with people, and develop healthy social skills that foster sense of belonging and acceptance that is needed on the mental health journey.
Truth is, it can be hard to have healthy fun as an adult. Socially, emotionally, and definitely physically! Not to mention the lack of time, money, and resources.
