I received my Bachelors in Counseling and minor in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University and my Masters of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have over ten years of experience working with mood disorders, trauma and addiction in various settings. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, I am passionate about working with individuals with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, attachment wounds, negative core beliefs and self esteem, body image, grief and loss, as well as addiction.
My training includes Internal Family Systems (level 1), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR level 1 and 2), and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (level 1). I also have experience in expressive arts therapy, Polyvagal Theory, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I use an integrated blended approach.
I believe in being a collaborative and active partner in your journey. I use a blend of my trainings, clinical expertise, and some humor and fun. As a trauma-informed therapist, my first focus is for you to feel safe, stable, and secure in daily life. From there I can guide you through the deeper experiential work to process the past and transform your life.
