I believe everyone has the innate ability to change. My role as your therapist is to facilitate change in areas you want to see improvement. I work from a person centered approach which is a nondirective, empathic approach that empowers and motivates the client in the therapeutic process. Rather than viewing people as inherently flawed, with problematic behaviors and thoughts that require treatment, person-centered therapy identifies that each person has the capacity and desire for personal growth and change. I take clients ages 12 and older effected by anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relational issues and work stress.

Alyssa Raggio is a post-doctoral psychologist providing psychotherapy and psychological testing services. Alyssa strives to form a collaborative relationship with her clients and aims to de-stigmatize the process of mental health treatment. She enjoys working with adults who are experiencing concerns related to trauma, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias, adjustment disorders, gender and sexual identity, as well as other mental health symptoms. She believes that a nonjudgmental, safe space is imperative for a successful therapy experience.

I have been a mental health therapist for twenty three years. I believe in this work. I have been fortunate to be witness to the healing and growth that can take place through good therapy and hard work. Counseling can be a life changing process. In my career I have been fortunate to work with many wonderful professionals and with patients from all walks of life with a variety of issues stemming from mental health disorders and an endless number of life issues and problems.

I understand how difficult life can be; as a survivor of domestic violence I have personally navigated the deep waters of low-self esteem, self-doubt and self-sabotage to emerge on the other side of the darkness victorious! Client-Centered Counseling is a manner of being or an attitudinal approach that believes that positive change in people occurs in a therapeutic relationship with another person (a helper or a therapist) in which the helper provides unconditional positive regard, genuineness and empathy toward the client or patient. She has extensive experience working in substance use treatment including sober living, facilitating intensive outpatient groups and one on one counseling. Anna’s missions as a mental health professional is to work towards ending the stigma and shame surrounding individuals who struggle with addiction.
