I firmly believe we are not without hope because we will always have the power to choose how we respond to our adverse circumstances. I work with adults, teens, and children. I specialize in attachment repair and healing trauma (emotional, physical, sexual, car accidents, and medical trauma) from the nervous system.

My clinical practice is integrative in nature. As a social worker, my theoretical orientation is always informed by a social justice and a systems lens. I use a brain-based approach when developing treatment plans with my clients. I primarily use cognitive behavior therapy and motivational interviewing to target and help strengthen the prefrontal cortex. During sessions, I gently challenge clients' cognitive distortions and guide them to actionable and measurable change. I also teach clients to incorporate strategies to target subcortical regions of the brain and address their own trauma or stress-related symptoms.

Sensory Life was established to help people of all ages develop a happy, balanced lifestyle through increased understanding of their unique sensory processing needs. My services are ideal for those exploring neurodivergence or with known sensory processing differences. Common diagnoses include ADHD, Autism, ADD, OCD, ODD, anxiety, & PTSD, but a diagnosis is not necessary to benefit from services. Parents, educators, & therapists would also benefit. I offer basic & comprehensive sensory evaluations, as well as follow up sessions. The process is personalized, neurodiversity affirming, trauma informed, and collaborative.

There is a special place in my heart for a traumatized child. Traumatic events in childhood have a devastating impact on the child and family. Children need empathic, understanding, knowledgeable adults to come along side to guide and comfort the child through the journey of recovery. I provide caregivers education to support the child while providing practical techniques rewarding for both child and family. I provide play therapy, sand tray, Theraplay (R), and PCIT. I use these with EMDR and CBT to help children process their loss, trauma, reduce behaviors and impulsivity, enhance attachment, build communication and self esteem.

I am an EMDR therapist, who is passionate about helping children, adolescents, and adults of all ages overcome the challenges of life, no matter how big or small. As a military spouse of 10 years, I have lived and raised a family in the US and internationally. I empathize with the many challenges of raising a family in chaotic times. I also understand the pressures a small business can bring, as I formerly owned and operated several businesses, employing as many as 30 people. I am a proud wife and a mother of three, having been married for almost 30 years. I know life is busy and chaotic.

Are there things about your family or relationship that you wish were better or different? Depressed? Anxious? Frustrated with your child, your spouse or your parents? I enjoy helping people explore and improve marital/couple, parent-child, and sibling relationships. I specifically enjoy working with parents and their adolescents to decrease negative, antisocial behaviors, and increase functioning in the family overall. I am also interested in helping family members to improve marital/couple relationships related to stress in the home and with their children. Additionally, I enjoy working with adolescents and young adults who are struggling with sexuality-based issues.
