Life is hard. Without healthy coping skills and supportive person to speak with, people begin to feel stressed, overwhelmed, and develop complicated feelings and thoughts that can manifest into serious mental health problems. My ideal client is someone who is seeking support and a listening ear from a nonjudgmental and down to earth professional. I assist my clients by connecting their behaviors, thoughts, and feelings towards new ways to think and respond to stressors. Therapy can be uncomfortable at times and change is hard; but with a supportive therapist, together we can move towards stability and life can be a little easier.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults struggling with: childhood trauma, trust and attachment issues, ADHD, anxiety, anger, depression, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, bullying, self-esteem issues, and grief. I also work with couples to explore relationship issues such as trust and infidelity, miscommunication, continuous conflicts, and growing apart.
I always operate first from a Client-Centered theoretical orientation to provide a provide a warm, non-judgmental space for my clients to open up, feel heard, and validated. I also recognize the connection between thoughts, behaviors, and actions and utilize a variety of strategies from Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
