Each day, we are witness to a social climate that surrounds us in fear and uncertainty. These negative effects are especially hard on those facing challenges with anxiety, depression, grief, job stress, trauma, or situational life crisis. If you are feeling overwhelmed in any of these areas, the first step to healing is asking for help. Support is there. It is my belief that we all have the inherent ability to foster change within us. I have found adversity and peace in my lifetime, so I know struggles are real – but people can overcome! I became a counselor to help others do just that. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults who have substance use and/or other mental health disorders (co-occurring disorders). I practice client centered and client driven counseling. I use a variety of approaches with emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I also provide supervision to counselors in training to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and/or a Licensed Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) in the state of Arkansas.

Dr. Wallace is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Supervisor. His clinical interest areas include trauma, sex therapy, sexual disorders, and clinical and forensic evaluation. Dr. Wallace has worked as a licensed clinician for over twenty years. He is also experienced with treating problems of anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, and other adjustment issues in children, adolescents and adults. His treatment approach includes an integration of analytic and cognitive therapies that focus on resolution of problems experienced by his clients.

Life doesn’t come with a set of instructions. Sometimes we find that what we are doing is no longer working in the way we want it to. We may find ourselves experiencing work problems, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, difficulties reaching goals, issues with parenting, grief, or just feeling like life isn’t what we want it to be. I help clients identify and build on their current strengths, while identifying ways to strengthen and build on areas that may be more challenging. It is my intention to create a safe space for clients to process their experiences, share their challenges, and find the best path forward.

Behavior change is applicable to everyone, not just those with psychological distress. I specialize in behavior change and communication. I offer direct, compassionate feedback, problem solving, and a fair evaluation of the circumstances.
