Areas of focus are grief, trauma, anxiety, and depression.
I would be honored to work alongside you in your journey towards healing. You may feel like you are barely surviving. You may exhausted from putting on a brave face each day, yet you are afraid to let anyone know you are struggling for fear of being a burden. My approach in the therapy process is to give you space to process your thoughts and emotions. My goal is to come alongside you and help you discover ways to find healing and peace.

It happened again today. Your emotions overwhelmed you. They come from a variety of places & often suddenly: sitting in traffic, driving by a certain location, a song on the radio, a person, a smell, or certain topics. The power of the emotions sometimes leaves you struggling to breathe and your heart pounding through your chest. Today, you caught a whiff of a stranger’s perfume and immediately felt the same panic. It just seems there is always some unseen threat lurking, making it hard to relax. It’s exhausting and you want to get control over these troubling emotions and memories. You want to feel happy..consistently..every day.

I enjoy working with a broad range of adult individuals, especially those who desire to use the therapy relationship to find self-acceptance, deepen self-understanding, and strengthen self-confidence. I work best with clients who are looking for a travel guide to exploring their inner life, and want a therapist to aid them in self-discovery.

You’re conflicted and at a crossroads. The feelings you have for other men are powerful, but everything you believe, everything expected from your family, friends, and faith, and everything you expect of yourself condemns you with shame and fear. You’ve played out in your mind several options trying to find peace within yourself. But every option seems to end with fear that you lose something precious. On the one hand you fear losing relationships. You wonder if you will lose your faith. On the other hand, you lose authenticity. In fact, in many ways, the internal conflicts have caused you to lose yourself and your identity.

I have been told that I am a good listener. This is an essential quality in a good therapist but it is by no means sufficient. Throughout my training, I have collected what I believe to be the most effective strategies and perspectives for bringing about change in a person's behaviors and beliefs that is consistent with who the individual wishes to be. I am particularly proud that I have been able to work effectively with people of broadly varying belief systems in ways that enable them to call on already existing internal resources to improve their lives within their own personal environment.

There are many reasons people seek therapy. Sometimes there is a sense of sadness that just doesn't go away. Sometimes anxiety is so bad that one is unable to leave one's home. One may be in crisis, finding that coping skills are no longer working. And sometimes the past interferes with the present, causing a lack of self-esteem, sleep disturbance, self-harm, nightmares, flashbacks, loss of time, suicidal thoughts. And sometimes one may feel stuck in an abusive relationship, unable to assert oneself to get one's own needs met.

It is natural to experience pain as well as joy during life. It is not, however, natural to remain in a state of suffering. I believe we are meant to live happy, joyful lives within a background of inner peace. Sometimes life's circumstances throw us off balance and professional help is needed to find our way back. That's what I do, that's my purpose, to help others regain, or possibly even discover for the first time that life is not to be feared or dreaded because of hurtful emotions.

My approach to counseling is holistic because of the relationships between our minds, emotions, physical bodies, and spirits. Stress and stress management involve all aspects of our being. New research shows the connection between chronic stress in childhood and chronic physical and emotional illness in adults, and mind-body approaches that can help with healing. I also specialize in working with LGBTQ clients and their families. I am challenged and inspired by the difficulties that LGBTQ people face as they embrace their identities. Always, I want to support my clients in becoming their best, most authentic selves.

Being a safe place to process feelings is a vital role that we can play in each other's lives. In a world where emotions often go unacknowledged or even dismissed, offering a safe space for someone to express and explore their feelings can be a transformative experience. It requires genuine empathy, active listening, and a nonjudgmental attitude. Creating an environment where individuals feel comfortable sharing their innermost thoughts and emotions can cultivate healing, growth, and resilience. Kailee’s goal is to cultivate this space of safety, nonjudgement, growth, healing, self-acceptance, and above all, hope.

There is a certain kind of validation and personal development that comes from authentic and genuine connection with another human. Sometimes, being with friends and family provides the support we need. Often times, we need an individualized safe and caring environment to share our deepest thoughts, feelings, fears, concerns, vulnerabilities, past and present experiences and hopes for the future in order to make changes, learn to be and accept ourselves as we truly want to be.

It can be really tough to reach out and make that first step in seeking a better quality of life. Everyone needs someone in their corner, whether it be to listen or provide an unbiased perspective to work towards positive life changes. Maybe it's needing someone that doesn't judge you, knowing that, here, you are accepted for exactly who you are. Here, you get to let that out and work on being you in all areas of your life.

Change is an inevitable part of life, it is also something we often fear and resist. As your therapist I assist you in activating your motivation and developing skills to guide you through the process. Whether your motivation is coming from a personal or relationship crisis, a long term difficulty, or simply the desire to create a better, happier future - I use therapy as a guided exploration toward solutions and the development of skills necessary for creating change. Learning WHAT, and HOW to change is at the core of my training, experience and my approach to therapy with clients.

I am a caring counselor with 15 years of experience working with children of all ages and backgrounds. I have helped kids through life changes such as their parents’ divorce or the loss of a loved one, all types of anxiety, and behavioral concerns such as anger management and ADHD. Treating the child with respect and dignity and meeting them where they are are the heart of my practice. I use play, bibliotherapy, and expressive arts to connect with your child, help them share their thoughts and feelings, and explore coping skills that work for them. Take that first step on behalf of your child. Call and set up an appointment with me.

As parents and children get frustrated with each other, it often results in strained relationships and exhaustion for all involved. Parents who want to better understand their children and themselves can benefit from tools and strategies to help them know how to respond in healthy ways.
