I am a clinical social worker who works with people from ages 14 to Geriatric age. My client base are people who have occupational , substance abuse, mental health, family, and legal issues. The following disorders I work with are personality disorders, Schizophrenia spectrum, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar disorders, mood disorders, Traumatic Brain Injury and Intellectual Disabilities, that range from borderline intellectual to moderate intellectual disability. I am also a certified gambling addictions counselor and Certified addictions Counselor.

I base my therapeutic approach around building a solid foundation of trust and acceptance with my clients. Parenting is a challenging endeavor in the most ideal of circumstances, but parenting children with learning problems, disruptive behaviors, social skills deficits, or emotional disturbance can tax even the most well-informed parent. There are many effective ways to parent children and my goal is to provide evaluation and treatment approaches that allow you to parent your child based on your own values while using the most healthy and effective strategies. For those children already in treatment, I can collaborate with the child's therapist and/or physician to provide evaluations that help to clarify diagnosis and treatment needs.

I am skilled in attachment & view this as critical to understanding how people develop and navigate relationships. I consider myself an expert in Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and can spot these symptoms and behaviors in both children and adults. Early intervention is KEY to successful outcomes.

Typically, individuals she works with range in age from 3 to 18-years-old. However, Dr. Black has expanded her practice to work with adults ranging in age from 18 to 45-years-old.

TAC has an amazing sensory-based play therapy room that your children will love. TAC takes the time to teach parents creative parenting techniques to use at home. TAC also treats teens and adults of all ages.

I live and work in the River Valley. Formerly a safety engineer in Chicago, I later trained as a Marriage and Family Therapist in The Canadian Rockies. I’ve been practicing for over 14 years and provide a Christ-centered approach to therapy. I have over 8000 hours of experience with youth issues. I enjoy working with couples and families, helping people fall in love again. I have helped many people work through loss, trauma and, also trained in and advanced trauma techniques using EMDR therapy. I have seen many clients with sexual issues.
