My work is focused on empowering my clients to feel both motivated and capable of achieving their goals. People have a natural tendency to heal and grow, but sometimes the work of self-exploration can be uncomfortable and difficult. I meet my clients where they are and we move at a pace they are comfortable with. This does not mean I won't challenge you to expand your comfort zone, only that I won't push you into the deep end of the pool without knowing you can swim. I find I do my best work with people who struggle with depression, anxiety, boundaries, communication, self-esteem, stress and time management, and mindfulness.
I provide a non-judgmental and supportive atmosphere. I use a lot of psychoeducation to normalize the experiences my clients have, and to help them better understand themselves. My preferred modalities are cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. I have experience with adolescents, adults, and couples.
Making the choice to start therapy can be scary and hard. It's okay to feel nervous. Bravery is not the absence of fear, but the act of doing the thing you are scared of in spite of your fear. In therapy, you can expect to feel the whole spectrum of emotions. The right therapist will walk beside you on your journey and support you all along the way.
