Hi, my name is April Jannise, and I am an LCSW. I have been in practice since 1996 and I am experienced in treating children and adults. I generally use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Trauma Focused Therapy, and Behavior Modification. I really enjoy building relationships with people, and I believe in having fun while addressing life's stressful issues. I typically work with people ages 13 and up. I have a strong background working with people who are experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and/or trauma-related issues.
I value establishing a trusting relationship so that people feel comfortable talking to me about difficult issues. I truly care about, enjoy, and respect the people I work with, and I feel that comes through in my sessions. I also love to laugh and help people see the funny side of life.
I have always loved being a helper. I have also personally been through trauma in my life that was difficult to bounce back from. I feel that being able to help someone escape the binds of life's issues and come to enjoy themselves again is the most important thing anyone can do.
