I have been a practicing psychotherapist for more than 40 years, 28 years of which have been at the doctoral level. I offer therapy to individuals, couples, and families in order to address a wide range of problems. I work with clients who suffer from depression, anxiety, mood disorders, relationship and family-of-origin problems. In addition to practicing at the Courtyard Counseling Center, I write and have lectured on marriage and family therapy. I taught therapy related courses at Bucknell University for 20 years, and at Temple University's Family Therapy Post-Graduate program in Harrisburg, PA.
As a clinical fellow, supervisor and past board member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, I help individuals, couples and families with communication, commitment, infidelities, parenting, extended and blended family and identity issues. I am taking on very few new cases, but you should call and ask about my availability.
My approach to therapy is active and supportive. I am informal but direct and candid. My goal is to help individuals understand the meanings behind situations that have affected them. While therapy is serious, I believe that humor can also help us locate perspectives that make our problems easier to resolve. Most of my clients enjoy the therapy process.
