As a person-centered counselor, I serve clients from a position of authentic connection, genuine curiosity, and gentle witness. I stand as an equal alongside clients in their pursuits, committed to understanding how each composes and navigates the world. I have worked professionally in mental health in intensive in-patient settings, helping to meet the needs of children, adolescents, and adults alike as they learn how to respond to personal crises and new diagnoses.
However, it doesn’t have to be a crisis that leads a person to counseling. One of my foremost goals in the therapeutic relationship is simply to welcome and hold space for clients to notice and observe themselves: What would it look like for a client to greet their personhood from a different angle for a little while? How does one approach joy or ambiguity?
What is truly nourishing, and how does one negotiate meeting need? By intentionally applying mindfulness practices and engaging from a strengths-based approach, I intend to provide clients with tools and strategies that better serve them in their pursuit of greater self-awareness.
