I have over 24 years of experience with special needs children and their families. I use a whole child/family approach to wellness and the use of family systems. I work as part of interdisciplinary teams of therapists who are addressing other needs of the child also. I have experience in most of the school districts in northern westchester and with the department of health system for younger children. I am currently in the dissertation phase of my doctorate, which focusses on the parent-child relationship in with children on the autism spectrum and their parents.
My specialty is in children & young people with developmental delays. I focus on social and emotional delays through play and social skills exercises. I also provide support for families. Parents are a childs primary teacher and my work is to empower them to manage difficult behaviors and improve their child's functioning.
I conduct my treatment in your home where a child is most comfortable and will most easily open up. I will bring development appropriate materials and activities with me and work in conjunction with parents to further support the childs gains within the home environment.
