In my 11 years of experience providing counseling services in schools and in the clinical setting, I have found the importance of connection, building a safe space, and playfulness in work with children, young adults and families. I am passionate about helping clients dealing with anxiety, depression, school avoidance, trauma, ADHD, OCD, and difficult family dynamics. I have worked with many children on strengthening attachment with caregivers and identifying their innate positive qualities and resources to increase a sense of safety and to experience real success.
I use multiple treatment modalities, including TraumaPlay, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to meet the needs of clients. I am currently being trained in EMDR. I understand the need for movement for grounding and body awareness and art as a form of emotional expression.
My goal is to help clients, ages 3 -25 years, find connection, healing, and understanding to move through life with more confidence when facing stressful situations and skills to take care of themselves along the way.
