Anxiety symptoms are awful- racing heart, restless, short of breath, dizzy, headache, stomach issues, tearful, exhausted, insomnia, panic. Trips to the ER thinking there is something really wrong with you. Thoughts of dread, doom, worry. Am I going insane? Feeling like you are out of your body, disconnected. Sweating, shaking, can't concentrate, forget things, recurrent thoughts. Irritable, nervous, angry, sad, hopeless. Why is this happening to you? The uneasiness magnifies. You start to avoid places, activities, fearing it will trigger the sensations. The suffering at times feels unbearable.
I support anxious and grieving clients find comfort and gain coping skills during the times when you feel like you are losing your mind.
I get it. I can help. Together we explore the ways your brain and body respond to threat; how it shows up for you in your life. I introduce cognitive and somatic interventions so you regain control over anxious thoughts and invite calm and joy into daily activities. I provide a variety of resources you can use between therapy sessions to expedite relief.
I believe strongly in the therapy process to gain the much needed support for incessant worry, recurrent thoughts, panic attacks, phobias. In addition to talk therapy, I do "walk and talk", taking anxiety outdoors. Also as a Board-Certified dance/movement therapist, can provide embodied methods to "move" forward to put anxiety in the back seat.
