I specialize in assisting adults, 18 to 100+, who are experiencing distress from life situations, transitions, stressors and losses, anxiety, trauma, and depression. I welcome clients who have received mental illness diagnoses. I've been a counselor for almost 10 years, use many therapies, and have specialized training in cognitive theory-based protocols - CBT, DBT, and cognitive processing therapy for PTSD (CPT) - substance overuse, and grief. I welcome clients with specific challenges they hope might be addressed in a few sessions.
I welcome clients who have become aware of traits, behaviors, current conditions, or past hardships they wish to discuss. I gladly meet with anyone: university students, working professionals, people who have retired, people near the end of life, and those who have difficulty staying in school or working due to physical and mental concerns.
I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, a trauma treatment recommended by the American Psychological Association and the Veterans' Administration. I offer research-informed counseling for those who wish to reduce or eliminate substance use or other practices. I study Mandarin Chinese. I welcome contact to discuss possibilities.
