Childhood and adolescence can be an exciting time of life, but also comes with unique challenges. As parents we want to do what is best for our children, but knowing what that is can be hard at times. I would be honored to help you and your family through some of the difficult parts of your journey. Young children do not communicate the same way adults do, which can be frustrating as we have spent many years honing our communication skills. When children struggle to verbally express themselves, we sometimes see unwanted behavior.
I am experienced in providing families with Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), which helps caregivers understand their child’s behavior, improve communication and attachment, and see an overall improvement in their child’s disposition and behaviors. Along with this background, I utilize other techniques with my clients, including mindfulness.
While I believe family work is often essential, children and adolescents need their own space to grow and heal as well. I am happy to provide that space for your child. Every individual has their own unique needs, and I take a holistic approach to meeting the needs of every individual who chooses to work with me.
