I work with clients 16 and older who are experiencing a wide range of issues related to stress, anxiety, depression, academic stress, coping with life challenges, family issues, etc. Many clients who utilize my services are looking for support as they are addressing life changes and making behavior changes.
My approach to counseling is to assist clients to identify personal strengths, challenge any negative thoughts/behaviors that impede their personal growth, and identify the best change pathway. Many clients need a sounding board so they don't feel isolated and alone as they are making new life changes.
Clients often have a vision of where they want their life to be and what changes they would like to accomplish. My role is to be supportive, help identify roadblocks and resources outside of therapy that can also assist with behavior changes. I respect clients' personal values and belief systems and focus on positive internal strengths clients possess.
