Some of my areas of expertise include medical psychology, pain management, phase of life issues, stress management, academic/work pressures, ADHD, ASD, and grief processing. My treatment is focused on symptom reduction (i.e., anxiety, depression, impulsivity, etc.), positive coping skills, and improvement in overall functioning based on your own personal values. Clients that are best suited for my interventions desire change, respect consistency in the sessions, and learn to be active participants in their plan of care.
It is widely documented that therapeutic alliance is the most common factor that is associated with better treatment outcomes. My style of interaction can be best described as client-centered, collaborative, reflective, present, and culturally-sensitive. While my main theoretical orientation is CBT, I tailor my interventions to meet the needs of my clients.
