I have been a practicing psychotherapist for the past twenty-five years. I believe we have all experienced challenging events in our lives that have never been adequately resolved, especially difficult childhoods and family disfunction. My unique specialty is to assist in discovering and moving beyond old patterns and belief systems in order to allow more self-understanding, authenticity, and sense of self-worth. I do this through my training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and a gentle form of bi-lateral therapy called EMDR.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is insight oriented and based on the premise that increased self-awareness brings clarity, compassion, and a dynamic change in perspective.
Building trust is an essential component in the therapeutic relationship. Working with a compassionate, experienced therapist who holds no judgement and treats you with unconditional positive regard allows this trust to grow and healing to occur.
