I possess experience in numerous specialties, such as depression, anxiety, self-esteem, addiction, trauma, anger management, coping skills, grief, relationship concerns, & PTSD.
My ideal client is an individual who is open to working as a team and benefiting from a therapeutic relationship in which honesty, accountability, and empathy are paramount. While a client’s concerns are unique and personal, there is nothing they cannot overcome through effective therapeutic interventions and a highly-trained and relatable clinician.

Life is difficult. Especially when you feel overwhelmed with feelings of sadness, fear, anger, or feelings of chronic emptiness. By starting counseling, you are taking the first step Towards starting to feel better. It is often difficult to reach out to a counselor because your brain may be telling you that you can handle your mental health, or that you don’t want to burden others with your problems. So take a moment to congratulate yourself on taking this first step. Respect, understanding, honesty and transparency define how I counsel.

I work with people on relationships, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, anger, career issues, sexuality, addiction, spirituality, and more.
I do individual and couple therapy. I am often a good fit for clients who want to integrate a spiritual perspective into therapy. By spiritual I mean living authentically, finding deep purpose, forgiving oneself and others, having compassion for yourself and others in the face of life's inevitable challenges, and seeing the sacred in the ordinary. I work with people of different faiths and those with no particular belief. I mix creativity, humor, and metaphors into therapy and encourage "daily practice for the rest of your life" to keep growth going long after therapy concludes. Check out some videos about my approach on my website.

I welcome your stress, your anger, all the parts of you that you struggle to embrace, and I can't wait for you to see your potential.
Now accepting new clients! You're so tired of fighting the invisible battle of your mind. Intrusive thoughts, brain fog, and self doubt keep you from reaching your full potential. The negative thoughts and feeling constantly keyed up or on edge causes conflict in your relationships and wears on your sense of self. You have goals and aspirations but the past keeps holding you back from your future. I specialize in helping clients identify and overcome their stuck points in life and heal from trauma, anxiety, depression, or self doubt. I specialize in working with first responders, adults of all ages, and teens ages 16 +.

My job is to help you identify whatever it is that is hindering you from moving to where you want to be. We have the capacity to heal, change, and grow. One of my favorite quotes is, "Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it." (Helen Keller) I strive to create strong therapeutic relationships in a supportive, empathetic, and confidential space where positive change is promoted. With a deep respect for the unique stories, strengths and needs of each person I see, I tailor my approach to the individual. Our work together is collaborative.

I have served those with Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Family Issues, etc. My ideal client is motivated to roll up their sleeves and engage in the therapeutic process. They have an open mind and can practice effective coping skills to improve their overall functioning and quality of life. They can challenge themselves to be vulnerable and practice accountability while processing their problematic thinking patterns and behaviors in a safe and non-judgmental environment. They wish to engage in therapy because they realize that they need to make a change and are willing to take a leap of faith to make it happen.

Anger Management Therapists

How long does therapy take for anger management?

Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?

Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?

Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
