As a former division one collegiate athlete with training in sports psychology, I excel in working with athletes, artists, and professionals of all kinds with a high demanding life on issues such as: anxiety/stress, motivation, work-life balance, anger, life adjustments, and spirituality.
Most people’s dream in life is to accomplish meaningful goals, doing and enjoying the things they love to do, and being present with the people that matter most. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done when dealing with all of life’s stresses and the constant pressure we feel on a daily basis. As a High Performance Counselor, I am committed to equipping you with tools and skills to organize your inner world to perform at high levels and actually enjoy your life while doing so, regardless of what life is throwing at you. I do this by getting clear on the levels you want to perform at and the actions needed to get you there.

What does thriving mean to you? Each of us are on a journey toward thriving. Sometimes we get interrupted along the way by anxiety, fear, rejection, anger, sadness, and resentment. When we feel uncertain or stuck we might experience disconnection, lack of purpose, and loss of meaning. In such times, therapy offers a safe place to be heard, a trusted person to unpack our stories with, and a method for traveling through the layers of life’s ups and downs. I believe strongly that this present moment is an avenue for creating growth and change, that’s why I deeply value the transformative potential of therapy.

I believe that everyone deserves the chance to build a life that they look forward to living, and I am passionate about working with clients to gain the tools they need to achieve this. Life is too precious to allow for painful past experiences and traumas to control you, troubling interpersonal challenges to hinder you, or to experience anxiety, anger and sadness more often than true happiness. Making the decision to seek out therapy can be difficult as is, so my goal as your therapist is to meet you where you are at and help you determine what your specific goals are and how we can achieve them.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
