I’ve been practicing since 2006. I have spent 4 years working in private practice settings, 12 years working with DCS/probation clients, 7 years working in a jail (6 of those being the clinical supervisor), and was a clinical director at a recovery center. I have a passion for working with those struggling with addiction. I have experience working with groups, couples, and those who suffer from anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder (with and without psychotic features), adjustment issues, ADHD, suicidal ideation, crisis intervention, gender issues, parenting issues, stress, self-esteem, self-worth, self-respect, and many more.
I have a friendly approach to therapy and work well with those who have a difficult time opening up or pinpointing what is causing distress in their life. I like to give assignments, (though not required), between sessions so clients are continuously working on things to have faster results. I believe your time is valuable and make every minute count.
I have the ability to guide you in the right direction without being harsh, but also letting you know if you are "too easy" or "too hard" on yourself. I believe substances are like umbrellas protecting one from the raindrops of trauma. In order for the umbrella to go away, we need to get rid of those raindrops. I can help you get rid of those raindrops.
