Dr. Huebner's approach is collaborative and experiential. She believes that clients have an innate ability to heal and strives to meet them where they are in a non-pathologizing way. She is certified as an Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist and has completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT) as well as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), all empirically validated treatment approaches for adult individuals and couples. She has also received additional training in mindfulness practice and interpersonal neurobiology, both of which she draws upon to inform her clinical practice.
She provides therapy to a diverse group of individuals and couples experiencing issues related to marital/relationship distress, life transitions, anxiety, depression, anger, trauma (including PTSD), parenting and family conflict. Dr. Huebner also provides consultation to business co-founders struggling with issues of communication and company growth.
Dr. Huebner is a Clinical Fellow of the AAMFT and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. She served as an associate professor in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program at Virginia Tech in Falls Church, VA for 17 years before opening her full-time private practice.
