Do you have a child who is struggling with not being able to communicate with his/her peers and the adults in their life? I have worked with school aged children, before and after school, on social and emotion issues, along with working through difficult situations they may face or have already faced, and worked with them on how to communicate with peers and adults.
I have lots of training in anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts. Understanding there are many reasons why someone can be anxious and/or depressed, I use different ways of helping a client work through the underlying causes with mindfulness, solution-focused therapy and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I am working to integrate EMDR in the future.
One of the main reason why I decided to switch from teaching to counseling was because I wanted the ability to advocate and help those individuals and families who are struggling with mental health and/or family issues.
