Hello, My name is Anthony and I practice as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Board Certified Master's Level Addictions Professional with over 16 years of experience working in various settings such as outpatient, inpatient, prison, and therapeutic communities. I hold a Master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma in Human Relations, and a Doctorate in Counseling Studies from Capella University. I specialize in helping individuals and couples struggling with grief, marital problems, and substance use disorders. I believe every person can change, enhance coping ability, and maintain meaningful relationships.
I specialize in Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Trauma and Stress Related Disorders, and Substance use Disorders. I use an eclectic approach to therapy that includes modalities such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral, Behavioral Activation, Acceptance and Commitment, Dialectical Behavioral Therapies.
During the first session, the focus is on developing a level of trust while providing support and empathy to encourage patients to feel safe expressing their thoughts and feelings. Patients can expect to walk away from the first session knowing they are in a collaborative relationship, and feeling like they will be treated with dignity and respect.
