For the better part of a decade of my professional career I had the privilege of working with children and teenagers from traumatic backgrounds such as abuse and neglect. That experience paved the way for my approach to counseling which seeks to help clients understand the connections between thoughts, emotions and behaviors. Much of my counseling experience has been focused on the treatment of Anxiety based disorders including phobias, OCD, PTSD, social anxiety, panic, and generalized anxiety. I also have spent noted time helping clients walking through clinical depression and disorders such as AD/HD.
In my therapy practice I utilize an evidence based modality known as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and for those who prefer a Christian counselor I am skilled in providing Biblical Counseling. I am also a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional.
I believe that counseling can provide the safe atmosphere and necessary tools to assist clients in unburdening themselves of the weight and restrictions that our mindsets often create, be it from past trauma or perhaps from believing the lies we have been told for much of our lives.
