My name is Andrea Stocker and I am an LCSW. I focus on eating disorders, LGBTQIA+ population, and am sex-positive and kink-aligned. I am currently working towards becoming a certified sex therapist. I take a whole-person approach to therapy. I focus on systems theory, if something is wrong with the system as a whole, we have an increase in mental health symptoms. I also understand that as we move through various stages of life we can struggle to adjust and have an increase in symptoms.
A lot of clients tell me it is like they are talking to a friend. I am very casual in my style. My cats and dog are my "office assistants" and can sometimes be seen or heard during appointments if clients are ok with that. I am a real person that is relatable. We work together on identifying SMART goals that the client is interested in.
We will go over your background at your pace. If there is a history of trauma, I do not push and I let the client get comfortable before talking to me.
