You’re lying in bed and it starts - endless thoughts of what there is to do and what hasn’t been done, what is going wrong or what could go wrong, memories, exciting new ideas, old conversations, thoughts of how to ‘fix’ your sleep/anxiety/mood/organization/relationships/life. Your busy mind can be exhausting yet that is exactly the problem; you just can’t seem to disengage enough to fully relax, enjoy, or possibly even sleep. And all of that thinking does not seem to improve the way you live day-to-day anyway. This is a frustrating paradox when you are trying to reach your fullest potential but it feels just out of reach.
I treat adults with sleep problems, ADHD, anxiety, depression, & stressors (especially college transitions, fertility/perinatal, & trauma) - it is common for them to overlap. Therapy can reduce suffering these issues both significantly and quickly: Feel rested. Take on challenges. Stop 'fixing' yourself or life. Function and relate better. Live.
